But traditionally our cinema has always been a 3 hour + affair (give or take few minutes) with a leisurely interval thrown in between... and due to some unwritten principle followed by our directors the grander the movie the lengthier it has to be especially true for historical epics . Jodhaa Akbar is as grand and as epic as it can get plus it has ashutosh gowarikar's name attached to it you should expect walking in to the theatre you will be in there for a longer time . Despite the length , movie is ultimately a rewarding experience , very few are going to walk out the theatre totally disappointed . Also you might be surprised to know ,this is the shortest film in gowarikar's filmography . Lagaan : 224 min swades : 210 min (indian version) Jodhaa Akbar : 193 min iam totally ignoring his pre-lagaan work (pehlaa nasha and baazi), as i think with lagaan ashutosh gowarikar was reborn as a totally different and much better director .
